The Great Mother
Much like the art above - We can look to the great Mother, Papatuānuku, Gaia - Mother Earth for insight around the Mother Archetype.
She gives life, she supports, she nourishes, she nurtures. Her energy is all encompassing. She is a creator. She is nature. She flows. She is in harmony with all things. Her support does not discriminate - She does not separate. She is all encompassing. Open hearted. Non judgmental. A Mother to all.
In this way ~ When we look to the Wisdom of Mother Earth/Papatuānuku - We can see the Mother Archetype. We can gain wisdom from her. We can also begin to see where these insights are reflected back many times within our surrounding environment & also within us.......Welcome to the insights of the Mother Archetype my friend.
She is in alignment with our Full Moon Phase
As you may imagine - Much like the bright light of the Full Moon that shines down & encompasses all - This part of our Lunar Phase is in alignment with the Mother Archetype.
It is a time of high energy. Being mindful here to be aware that this energy, as with all the Moon energies - Meet us & there is an alchemy that happens.
The high energy accentuates that which is within us. High vibes + Positivity = Super positive.....now there are of course many, many facets of how this energy can transform into different ways of being as of course - we are all completely different!
AND there is of course the understanding of the meeting of our moments with awareness - THEN how we choose to move from that point onwards.........that gives it a whole different essence of energy.
Actually this is really what it is all about.
Understanding the energy in our surrounding environment & knowing self - self awareness. Then from that point - making conscious decisions from that axis point moving forward.
This is why I share - because the knowledge helps.
How do you feel over the full moon period?
Now I went a little off track - but if you can sit with the energies of the Mother & feel into the energy of the Full Moon - What innate wisdom comes forth for you?
The energies of the full moon are too.........all encompassing, intense energy, often of clarity, productivity, a time of high communication (to be mindful to stay grounded within these though), a time to bring plans into fruition, a time of action. To act.
Always meeting your moments with awareness in relation to what is your highest good.
This is the Law of Relationship - Its all about the alchemy within the meeting of the two my friend. The relationship.
The Full Moon Energy is high - How will you relate to it?
She is Summertime
The essence of the Mother Archetype aligns with the season of Summer as I feel you will innately know.
Summer time is one of high activity. The days are generally warmer, everything is in bloom & coming into fruition. This season provides for us. It is a time of harvest. It is plentiful, abundant. Just like the Mother energies.
The warmer weather calls us to be out & active. The evenings are lighter. We are called out into nature more. It is a time of "doing".
The energy FEELS higher. The sun shines intensely on us, enlivening our essence.
Everything feels the essence of the life giving energy of Summer.
Our inner cycle & the greater cycles of life
As a woman - We all have the essence of the Mother Archetype within us. If we are Mothers or if we are not. The essence of the Mother Archetype does not restrict - We are talking about energy remember?
Embracing the energy of the Mother Archetype is of course a passage of time for many of us as woman. Whether those that we embrace & support are of our body or not.
The true Mother energy does not discriminate or separate remember?
This is a nurturing, supportive, caring energy. It is a passage of time in our lives when we are there for someone with unconditional love & support.
There is also a treasure within this message here my friend - Is that within our healing journey - We can also be a Mother to ourselves! Embracing the Mother Archetype. Now I must not digress but feel it......YOU CAN GIVE YOURSELF WHAT YOU NEED. Nurture. Support. Unconditional love.........in fact this is an integral part of our healing journey.
Within our inner Lunar Cycle the Mother Archetype is aligned with the Ovulation phase....This is when we have the most oestrogen in our system with a sprinkling of testosterone.
Oestrogen makes us feel great! Gives us higher energy, gives our skin a glow & much more. Testosterone as you may know gives us a sense of strength & drive. The alchemy of the two allows us to feel on top of the world at this time. Much energy, much drive, much to give.......Much like the mother you see?
It is of course I great time to be able to become a mother also....
She has a shadow too
What I have not delved into with the previous archetypes is, the Shadow aspect of them.
As with everything - there is light & dark. Yin & yang.
We are not to look at the separately but to know they are interconnected.
Only in the shining of light do we see a shadow.
The energy of the Mother archetype is SO BEAUTIFUL - However she, as all things do, has a shadow.
She may connect her giving nature to a sense of identity. Identifying with it so to speak. She may be a mother that gives so much that she no longer knows who she is at the essence of her self. The lines blur.
Within the giving there can be a lack of boundaries......the lines. Not honouring self. Not listing to her body perhaps. Not recognising limits.
A flower cannot bloom forever........
To give is beautiful but to give at the expense of ourselves is harmful.
A mother is ultimately a teacher. When we learn that those around us learn from our way of being not so much what we say - We must learn to embody that which we wish to pass on to them.
Shifting away from "Do as I say, not as I do" to embodiment of that which we wish to teach.
Sometimes rather that moving in flow with life, the mother archetype can seek to control & be inflexible. A misguided energy of support, nurture of guidance....We are reminded by the energy of the Great Mother that everything must ebb & flow in order to grow & change.
The law of nature & that of impermanence reminds us that everything changes.
It must.
We must allow & nurture the natural nature of the seed that we are growing for it to thrive as it is meant to.
The essence of the Mother Archetype & the wisdom of nature....AND that which is within us has much insight to share with us - IF we take the time to connect.
