The Maiden as you know or perhaps may not know - Is one of the Divine Feminine Energy Archetypes.
An Archetype is essentially is a universally recognised symbol, character, theme, or energetic pattern that re occurs across cultures & over time.
It represents fundamental human experiences, ways of being or traits that appear in myths, stories, cycles in nature & even psychology.
Through these Archetypes & the experience of those who have come before us - We can gain valuable insight.
Enabling us to read between the lines of life.......Gaining deeper insight into what is unfolding within us & in our surrounding environment.
The Maiden Archetypal energy is reflected back to us in many forms allowing us to gain much insight...
The spirit of the Maiden Archetype speaks of energies that are often excited, inspired, full of potential & growth. Much like the feeling we get when we are have a new idea or embark on a new project. Even the wonder of being somewhere new. It is vibrant. It speaks of drive, of motivation. Perhaps a sense of rebirth or even renewal. The spirit of the Maiden energies embraces optimism within the learning process, knowing that she is here to learn. This is the school of life!
This energetic way of being may often be associated with someone is who is younger - In those free spirited, playful days of our youth BUT much like the energy of the Wise Woman (check out my previous blog xx) - we must remember that energy doesn’t restrict, label or confine.
It is the essence of the energy that we are seeking to understand within our ways of being & surrounding environment - To then guide us, recognising & embracing these energies as we move though our days.
This archetype is here to allow us to read the symbology of life, ways of being & what is unfolding around & within us....The Maiden Archetype also has alignment with our inner cycle, the Moon Cycle AND the Seasons.
These insights are here to guide yes - but to also remind us that we are not separate from the environment that surrounds us.
That which is within - Is also without.
She has a shadow too though you know - Just as we do.
The dark to the light. The Yin in the Yang.
Contrastingly to the growth, expansion & energies of action within the energy of the Maidens light - The shadow of the Maiden is in waiting. She is waiting for change outside of herself. She is waiting for the opportunity to arise. She is waiting until........whatever it may be.
Maiden energies also align with innocence &/or lack of wisdom/experience which can leave you open to being taken advantage of or perhaps leading you off your path
People pleasing - Lack of boundaries also comes in with the Maiden Archetype - There is much to learn in the years of our youth or perhaps when we are embarking on a new project or getting to know new people.
Lack of growth - Habitual way of being - The opposite to growth. Getting stuck in cycles & ways of being that may once have served but do no longer....
Risk of co-dependency in a relationship or lacking independence - Much like the energy of waiting. It is the leaning on someone more that what is healthy. It is the pendulum swing to the other end of independence & growth.
As you know the Maiden energy like excitement & new experiences - In the Shadow it can manifest as being drawn into negative/risky situations - seeking excitement in a way that does not serve......
Remember though - as we shine the light of our awareness on our shadow.....we begin the process of transmuting this energy & the ways of being associated xx
She is Springtime
As we look to the environment that surrounds us - We cannot help but see the change of seasons. There too; is insight & wisdom for us to tap into.
The Maiden Archetype aligns with Springtime - As you may be able to guess?
This is the beginning of a new cycle of growth. When the outward expression of our environment slowly comes back to life after the dormancy of Winter.
Buds begin to appear ~ Slowly but surely it is a time of growth.
In the Animal Kingdom - New life is born.
Slow, purposeful, natural ~ Like the unfurling of the Mamaku Fern ~ Everything has a process.
We plant at this time. We nurture. We take aligned action to support the seeds we have planted.
We begin to feel that shift in the season & energy.
The weather around us often fluctuates - signalling the shift also ~ Out of dormancy & into growth......Everything is activated once again with the energy of life.
Can you see the alignment? Do you feel it in the shift of season? The awakening of the Maiden energies? Can you read between the lines & see the wisdom waiting for you my friend?
As we tap into the wisdom of nature - We can learn from it. We can embrace this wisdom. We can plan in this manner. We can shift into alignment with the environment that surrounds us.
This is part of the magic of life ~ Everything is connected.
The Maiden ~ In alignment with the energy rising after the New Moon.
Essentially the Maiden Archetype aligns with the energy rising after the lower energy of the New Moon.
As we can see - The light of the moon begins to grow. As does its energetic pull.
This energy is represented within the energy amidst the phases of the Waxing crescent moon - just after the first quarter. As we know the energies after the New Moon are still low - But they slowly build.
As with all things it is not black & white - But multifaceted & multidimensional. Ebbing & flowing - but the over all energy is one of energy rising, building up to the Full Moon.
You will feel the resonance of this wisdom within - It is much like the energy of the Maiden Archetype. After the birth of the New Lunar Phase we move slowly back into a state of action....perhaps grounding into the intentions created over the New Moon Period, starting to act on plans.....nurturing our seeds of growth, ideas & plans. You get the vibe my friend.
The Maiden energy of the Moon - Growing, expanding, building in energy.
She is connected to our inner cycle too
But also the broader cycles of life as you may have gathered - Remember those carefree years, when everything felt new & exciting? (Note: We can still embrace this energy! as we move into new ways of being & growth xx)
Once again though we can choose to ground back into the wisdom of this energy & not confirm it to the potential labels. But rather sinking into the wisdom it has to share.
The energetic way of being - regardless of form.
In relation to our inner cycle - It is when Oestrogen is beginning to build up in our system again after menstruation. As a cycling woman this hormone is created by our Ovaries.
As a non cycling woman it is created (to a lesser degree) through our Adrenal Glands - This is why adrenal health is so important sis, but that's another story!
The energy of Oestrogen gives us a boost! We vibe on ourselves. We feel more energy, perhaps the spark of inspiration. It is a great time to be active, tackle things that you may have put off. In general a time of - you guessed it action & expansion.
Now all this insight - has just been from my personal learnings & experimentation - through building my sense of awareness & connecting to what is unfolding around & within me.
I have done my own research & I encourage you to - Too! We are of the information age - So much is available to us! But remember - the key is connecting the knowledge with our sense of awareness. It's all in the noticing. That's when it all starts to make sense my friend xx
This information is here for us all! It is within us, it is around us. It is backed up by people that it has been their life's work to delve into this knowledge.
As woman/wahine all of this is connected to our innate wisdom.
Many of us though have forgotten it. It had become lost - covered in many ways of being that do not serve.
My hope is that this may have just awakened a little sparkle within you - for you to then nourish & grow with your innate Maiden energy.
In the building of our sense of awareness & sinking into the wisdom that is within & around us - moving out of systematic beliefs & structure that is not aligned with our innate way of being - we then move into a greater sense of alignment.
We resonate with the wisdom of the environment that is around us.
Our inner cycles - be they hormone related or our larger seasons of life as woman - Are all interconnected & here to support us - Rather than perhaps just be something we go through on auto pilot.
There is wisdom waiting there for you sis.
